COST: Unless otherwise noted, courses are $22 per session, payable by semester. Each course also includes a one-time $20 materials fee.
2007-2008
Special Topics in Literature: High-school. A series of readings organized around the study of fiction and nonfiction literature as craft, with an emphasis on critical reading and writing. Year course.
Latin IV: High-school. Latin poetry and prose, focusing on the poems of Catullus and the speeches of Cicero, with short readings chosen from among Petronius, Ovid, Martial, and Juvenal. Enhances students' reading fluency and understanding of ancient Roman literature in its historical context. Year course.
2006-2007
Comparative Literature: High-school. From Beowulf to Chinua Achebe, a thematic survey of works from around the world that have shaped modern literature. Year course.
American Literature Survey: High-school. From writings of the Native Americans to modern-day American authors. Chronological survey. Year course.
Latin I: Middle- and high-school. A first-year course in the study of Latin. Covers basic grammar, vocabulary, translation, Roman history, mythology, and culture. Year course.
Latin II: Middle- and high-school. A continuation of Latin study from Latin I. Continues instruction in basic grammar, vocabulary, and translation, with emphasis on longer translation passages, including the works of Livy and Julius Caesar. Year course.
Latin III: High-school. Latin poetry, including Vergil's Aeneid and Ovid's Metamorphoses, with the goal of developing students' translation skills toward reading fluency. Year course.
2005-2006
Comparative Literature: High-school. From Beowulf to Chinua Achebe, a thematic survey of works from around the world that have shaped modern literature. Year course.
